Terms of Use
By downloading, installing, and utilizing SharpVault ("the App"), you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding local data management, security risks, and software usage.
1. Ultimate Responsibility for Master PIN
SharpVault is equipped with uncompromising, military-grade AES-256 encryption. To enforce absolute privacy, your localized encryption keys are mathematically bound to your chosen Master PIN, Pattern, or Password.
SharpVault operates independently offline, and we do strictly NOT store, backup, or transmit your passwords to any servers.
If you forget your Master credential or if biometric authentication becomes unavailable, we CANNOT recover, bypass, decrypt, or retrieve your data under any circumstances. You assume total responsibility for remembering and securing your authentication credentials.
2. Data Loss & Liability Limitations
Because SharpVault intentionally avoids cloud synchronization architecture to preserve zero-knowledge privacy, your data lives strictly and exclusively on your device's local file system.
You agree that the Developers of SharpVault bear zero liability for any data loss occurring due to, but not limited to:
- Irretrievably forgetting your Master password or vault PIN.
- Uninstalling the Application without meticulously backing up your Vaults manually prior.
- Clearing the "App Data" or "App Storage" from within the Android OS System Settings.
- Triggering automated duress protocols, such as repeatedly failing PIN entry, resulting in a database wipe.
- Physical loss, theft, catastrophic damage, or factory reset of your mobile hardware.
3. Duress Mechanisms (Self Destruct / Fake Vault)
SharpVault includes extreme situation security countermeasures ("Self Destruct" and "Fake Vault") designed for explicit situations where you are coerced into opening the app under physical or psychological duress.
These features are, by nature, highly destructive or highly deceptive. By voluntarily enabling these configurations in the Settings menu, you acknowledge that triggering a Self Destruct sequence will permanently, irrecoverably, and instantaneously obliterate your local encrypted database. The developers are legally absolved of liability related to data loss caused by triggering these intended, user-activated security features.
4. Appropriate Use Boundaries
SharpVault solely provides a mathematical encryption toolset for privacy management. While the application encrypts the file payloads you supply to it, you unconditionally agree that you will not utilize this application to facilitate, store, distribute, or obscure illegal materials prohibited by your local or international jurisdiction.
Consequent to our zero-knowledge offline architecture, the developers possess zero capability to censor, monitor, or access what you store; therefore, the legal burden and liability for your payload content rests entirely and exclusively upon you.
5. Amendments & Modifications
We reserve the unilateral right to amend, augment, or modify these Terms of Use at any given time. Because the application is strictly offline-first, your continued usage of the Application post-update denotes your irrevocable acceptance of the active terms embedded in your current build version. Changes will be reflected via App updates on distribution platforms.
