Perfect World Studio ("we", "us", or "our") built the SharpScan app (the "Service") as a Free application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Log Data: In case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) called Log Data.

1.3 Information NOT Collected

🔒 Your documents stay on YOUR device.

Scanned documents and images are processed entirely on your device using on-device OCR technology.
We do NOT upload, store, or have access to your scanned documents, photos, or extracted text.
PDF files you create are saved only to your device's local storage.

2. App Permissions

Our app requires the following permissions to function properly:

Note about Google ML Kit: The ML Kit SDK processes all data on-device. Your documents and extracted text are never sent to Google's servers. Language models may be downloaded via the internet, but your actual document content remains private.

Local Data: Documents, PDFs, and images you create are stored on your device until you manually delete them.
App Preferences: Settings and preferences are stored locally and persist until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Analytics Data: Anonymized usage data may be retained by third-party analytics services according to their retention policies.
Account Data: If you create an account, your data is retained until you request account deletion.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

Encryption: All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Local Storage: Documents are stored in the app's private directory, protected by Android's sandboxing.
No Cloud Storage: By default, your documents are not uploaded to any cloud storage.
Minimal Data Collection: We follow data minimization principles and only collect what is necessary.

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal obligations).
